Our Faculty = A Passion for growth

Villa’s learning environment is dynamic. It's fueled by educators who are lifelong learners themselves. The number of advanced degrees attained (and in process) and hours of yearly professional development completed are a testament to how seriously our teachers view their profession.

Good Enough Isn’t Good Enough.
Our faculty don't rely on the same teaching methods or lesson plans year after year. A culture of continual improvement predominates, where teachers with 20+ years at Villa seek to learn as eagerly those in the earlier stages of their careers.

Dive In, Take the Risk.
Villa teachers take risks, try alternatives, and yes, make mistakes. In the process, they model for their students both the persistence and resilience necessary for success. Basing what they do upon rigorous standards, assessment, and best practice, our teachers embrace innovation and change.

Two Heads (or More) are Better than One.
Faculty support each other in their growth. A spirit of collaboration prevails where they question, research, share, and plan—together. Teachers here don't operate as soloists in their classrooms. As a result, our students benefit from a richer learning environment where the "sum is bigger than its parts".

Deep Knowledge of Students.
Villa students are at the center of all we do. Our teachers truly know their kids, as evidenced by the degree of individual team and cross-divisional work, grade-level meetings about students, participation in class placements, and active partnership with parents.
