The Villa Youth Theater Program

The Annual Spring Musical is a favorite Villa tradition!

Each spring, the Villa Youth Theater program produces a musical showcasing the talents of our students in grades 3 – 8. Students sign up for this after school program and audition for the primary roles.

Some students shine on the stage while others discover a talent for working behind the scenes. Working together on this complex project, students forge friendships and bonds across the grade levels.

Cast members rehearse several times a week for several months in preparation for opening night while the student crew and parent volunteers design, create, and set up costumes, props, and lighting.

Previous years’ performances include Alice in Wonderland, Jr., Roald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach, Jr., Shrek the Musical, Jr., and The Little Mermaid, Jr.

The "A" in STEAM

A hallmark of Villa Academy’s mission to educate to fullness of person is a rich program in visual arts and music.

We seek to develop within each student a unique capacity to create, perform, and respond to the world through various art forms based on knowledge and skills that have been nurtured through our academic and student life programs.

The arts provide a powerful means to foster a joy of learning.

Preschool students sing, perform, and create art as part of their everyday curriculum throughout the week.

Students in Kindergarten through grade 5 regularly work with the arts in the classroom. And, meet weekly with our music and visual arts specialists for intensive study.

Middle school students spend one semester each year in Visual Arts Class and one semester in Music Class.
