FINANCIAL AID

Our Philosophy
Villa Academy believes that any qualified student who can benefit from attending Villa Academy should not refrain from making application for admission solely because of lack of financial resources.  To the extent that our funds permit, financial aid is available to qualified students, preschool through 8th grade, whose parents are able to establish financial need through the financial aid application process. 

Villa Academy recognizes that the primary responsibility for financing a student’s independent school education rests with his or her family.  Family members have the obligation to pay for the educational expenses of their children to the extent they are able. The financial aid program exists to supplement family resources when demonstrated need exists. 

The Process
Villa Academy, like most Seattle independent schools, uses the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS), an organization that provides need-based financial aid analysis for schools. SSS is not a funding organization, but an impartial third party that calculates data for schools based on information provided by applicant families.  SSS forms may be completed on-line or submitted by mail (please see below).

In addition to the SSS form, Villa Academy requires signed copies of the last two years’ income tax forms with all schedules and supporting documents, and a signed copy of IRS form 4506.  The school can not process an application for financial aid without both the SSS form and the tax documentation in hand.

The financial aid process is confidential and is conducted separately from the Admission process.  Admission decisions and financial aid decisions are made independently by different committees.
