How to Apply

We know trying to find the right school for your child can be confusing and overwhelming at times. The application process can be challenging. Our Admissions team is always available to help make the application process as easy as possible. The tabs below will walk you through the process for your child's grade level.

Villa Academy uses a web-based application called Ravenna for the submission of your application. Through Ravenna, you can complete your application online as well as common supplemental forms that are shared among schools.

How to Apply
Our application has a few basic items:

All grades

  • We want to get to know you! We find that visiting our campus, seeing our students in class, seeing our teachers in action and meeting current parents gives you great insight into our mission. If you are out of town families or international families please just give us a call
  • Parent statement
  • Two years of past school records (except preschool)
  • Teacher recommendations
  • IQ tests, behavior reports, learning reports so that we may better get to know your child
  • Parent discussion with our admission staff that can be conducted in person, conference call, or by Skype
  • Student experience day for grades one to five

Middle School only

  • ISEE or SSAT test - we can proctor the ISEE test on site at Villa
  • Student essay and activity form
  • Teacher recommendation from a math and English teacher
  • Student experience day

Admissions Process for preschool

  • Your child must be age 3 on or before August 31, 2018
  • Tour the school or attend our Open House
  • Complete our Online Application 
  • Submit $75 non-refundable application fee
  • If your child has previous preschool experiences, using Ravenna (your online application), have his or her teacher complete a Recommendation Form and submit it to Villa Academy.
  • Please sign into Ravenna (your online application) to schedule:
    • Play session with other preschool applicants
    • Parent discussion with admission staff
       

Admissions Process for Kindergarten

To apply for our kindergarten your child must be age 5 on or before August 31, 2018. If your child is not 5 by August 31st give us a call at 206.527.9388 to discuss our pre-kindergarten program. 

Fall 2018

On or before January 15, 2019:

  • Complete our Online Application  
  • Please upload into the Ravenna system any IQ tests, behavior reports, learning reports these will be kept confidential
  • Submit $75 non-refundable application fee
  • Request Teacher Recommendations

Before January 23, 2019:

  • Register online for one of the play sessions below. Your child will get the opportunity to play with other kindergarten applicants, meet our kindergarten faculty and get to know Villa.
    • 9 am to 10:30 am, January 26, 2019
    • 11 am to 12:30 pm, January 26, 2019

Before January 31, 2019:

  • Register online for the Brigance Assessment (a simple 25-minute assessment that helps us understand how your child learns) and your parent discussion with our admission staff. You may select a time on one of the dates listed below:
    • Monday, February 4, 2019
    • Tuesday, February 11, 2019

Admissions Process for Lower School

Grades 1 to 2

  • Tour the school or attend our Open House on Saturday, October 27th at 9am
  • Complete our Online Application and Parent Statement
  • Please upload into the Ravenna system any IQ tests, behavior reports, learning reports these will be kept confidential
  • Submit $75 non-refundable application fee
  • Request Records and a Teacher Evaluation Form from applicant's current school no later than January 15, 2019.
  • Please sign into Ravenna (your online application) to schedule:
    • A half-day Student Visit where your child can visit Villa and participate in activities at their current grade level
    • Academic Assessment - Saturday, February 2, 2019. We have two times to choose from:
      • 8:30 am to 10:00 am
      • 10:30 am to noon
    • Your parent discussion with the admission staff

Admissions Process for lower school

Grades 3 to 5

  • Tour the school or attend our Open House on Saturday, October 27th at 9am
  • Complete our Online Application
  • Please upload into the Ravenna system any IQ tests, behavior reports, learning reports these will be kept confidential
  • Submit $75 non-refundable application fee
  • Request Records and a Teacher Evaluation Form from applicant's current school by January 15, 2019.
  • Please sign into Ravenna (your online application) to schedule:
    • A half-day Student Visit where your child can visit Villa and participate in activities at their current grade level
    • Academic Assessment - Saturday, February 2, 2019. We have two times to choose from:

    • Your parent discussion with the admission staff your parent discussion which can be done in person, conference call or Skype if you are an out of state or international applicant family.

Admissions Process for Middle School

Grades 6-8

  • Tour the school or attend our Open House on Saturday, October 27th at 9a.m.
  • Click here to start your online application which will include:
    • Parent statement
    • Two years of past school records, please include ALL standardized tests
    • Teacher recommendation from Math and English teacher
    • Student essay and activity form
    • ISEE or SSAT test - after April 1st Villa can administer the ISEE test onsite
  • Submit $75 non-refundable application fee
  • Request Records and a Teacher Evaluation Form from applicant's current school by January 15, 2019.
  • Please sign into Ravenna (your online application) to schedule:
    • The Student Experience Dat where your child can visit Villa and participate in activities at their current grade level
    • Your parent discussion with the admission staff your parent discussion which can be done in person, conference call or Skype if you are an out of state or international applicant family.
