Late Registration Policy:
This policy applies to forms received past the stated date for registration specified for each sport.
Any forms received after the stated due date will be specifically handled by the CYO Athletic Director per the guidelines below:
- If more players are needed to fill a team roster the late fee* may be waived.
- If a team is at its roster maximum allowed by CYO, late registration will be denied.
- If the number of players exceeds an “internal count” which allows desirable playing time for each player, late registration may be denied.
*Students who register for a sport past the published due date will be charged a late fee equal to the original registration fee. This late fee is in place to encourage parents to register on time and to ease the process of registration.
Coaching Training and Requirements :
If you would like to coach any sports at Villa, we would love to have you! We always need coaches to help out with teams. If you are worried you do not know enough about a sport, CYO offers free clinics before each season to help ease your mind and give you ideas, these are optional.
Villa Volunteer Training is a requirement that must be met BEFORE your season begins. The only exception to this is Soccer season, because the first Volunteer Training is not offered until mid-September and most teams have already started to practice. The Soccer coach must have attended Villa Volunteer Training in the previous year to hold practices. The coach must plan to attend one of the September Volunteer Training sessions to continue to coach. If the coach did NOT attend Villa Volunteer Training in the previous year, a parent who did attend a session in the previous year must be present at all practices and games until the coach can attend a training session. This is very important for the safety of our kids, as well as assuring we are in compliance with Villa’s insurance coverage. Coaches also will attend a Villa coaches meeting each season with the CYO Athletic Director.
