Late Registration Policy:

This policy applies to forms received past the stated date for registration specified for each sport.

Any forms received after the stated due date will be specifically handled by the CYO Athletic Director per the guidelines below:

  • If more players are needed to fill a team roster the late fee* may be waived.
  • If a team is at its roster maximum allowed by CYO, late registration will be denied.
  • If the number of players exceeds an “internal count” which allows desirable playing time for each player, late registration may be denied.

*Students who register for a sport past the published due date will be charged a late fee equal to the original registration fee.  This late fee is in place to encourage parents to register on time and to ease the process of registration.

Coaching Training and Requirements :

If you would like to coach any sports at Villa, we would love to have you! We always need coaches to help out with teams. If you are worried you do not know enough about a sport, CYO offers free clinics before each season to help ease your mind and give you ideas, these are optional.

Villa Volunteer Training is a requirement that must be met BEFORE your season begins. The only exception to this is Soccer season, because the first Volunteer Training is not offered until mid-September and most teams have already started to practice. The Soccer coach must have attended Villa Volunteer Training in the previous year to hold practices. The coach must plan to attend one of the September Volunteer Training sessions to continue to coach. If the coach did NOT attend Villa Volunteer Training in the previous year, a parent who did attend a session in the previous year must be present at all practices and games until the coach can attend a training session. This is very important for the safety of our kids, as well as assuring we are in compliance with Villa’s insurance coverage. Coaches also will attend a Villa coaches meeting each season with the CYO Athletic Director.

Please read about the following trainings that are required from CYO:

Play Like a Champion Today

Safe Environment Training

The Lystedt Concussion Law

CYO Coaches Meeting

Coaches must also turn in the signed Coaches Code of Conduct

Cross Country:

Registration is now open for the 2010 Cross Country season. All students Grades Kindergarten through 8th are eligiable to play and must complete and return the registration form no later than October 1st. Practice begins Sept. 13th and will be Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:15pm - 4:00pm and Wednesday from 2:15pm until 3:00pm.

Soccer:

Soccer is open to all students in Grades 1 through 8.  CYO has specific rules for each level of Soccer; please click here to read about the specific rules associated with your child’s grade level. Please be patient with the release of your child’s team’s schedule.

We still need coaches for next year, especially for the 1st Grade teams. Please read the CYO and Villa coaching requirements before signing up to coach.

Registration packets are now available. Please complete all forms included in the registration packet including the registration form, the state concussion form, the parent code of conduct, player code of conduct and if you intend on coaching, the coaching code of conduct.  All of these forms must be turned in by the registration date to ensure that your child is registered for their team.  Also, please read the new late registration policy. Contact John Widzgowski with questions about the season, registration, or your desire to coach. The 2010 soccer season should be tons of fun!
