MIDDLE SCHOOL ACADEMICS: HUMANITIES CASE STUDY

6th Grade Ancient Egypt Museum

In mid-December, Villa’s 6th grade classrooms are transformed into an Ancient Egypt Museum!

With over 30 exhibits and activities designed and hosted by the students, the Museum is always a big hit with the 6th graders’ family members and 3rd grade buddies.

Visitors discuss the geography, culture, and family life of Ancient Egypt with the 6th grade experts and explore the interactive, hands-on activities the students have created.

In past years, 6th graders have asked and researched questions like:

  • How do the major cities in Egypt compare to major cities around the world?
  • What would an accurate model of the Pyramids of Giza look like?
  • What role did the ancient Egyptian pharaohs have and why was it so stressful?
  • How did the geography of Egypt affect the Egyptian’s diets?
  • What religious aspects from the ancient Egyptians are with us today?
