8th Grade Leadership Camp

In September, the 8th grade class travels to a retreat center to work with their Advisors and experts from the AWSP’s Association of Washington Student Leaders for three days to prepare for their year of leadership at Villa.

This long standing Villa tradition includes experiential activities to explore different leadership strategies and team building as well as time to practice planning events and facilitating groups of their peers. Students also spend time in reflection and prayer.

The leadership activities challenge students to work together towards the idea of shared leadership with the knowledge that each student is a leader in their own way.

This time together in a beautiful natural setting provides a valuable opportunity for the 8th grade students to strengthen the bond that they share as a class. They leave with renewed confidence in their skills for the leadership tasks that they will be called on to perform throughout the coming year and for the rest of their lives.
