Villa Clubs & Activities

Our clubs and activities allow Middle School students to interact with students in other grades as they learn, explore new interests, and develop their skills.

Villa faculty and outside experts team up to offer programs that:

  • build academic  and life skills
  • encourage creativity and confidence
  • strengthen social and emotional skills

Grades 4 - 8

Do you love music? Have you wanted to play an instrument, but were not sure you could do it? Join the Villa Academy Band!

  • Instruction focus includes:
  • rehearsal technique
  • music fundamentals
  • variety of repertoire

You will participate in performances throughout the year.

Ready for strategic thinking and interesting game play? Join the Villa Chess Club!

Open to players at all levels: brand new, developing, and experienced.  We tailor the instruction to your needs.

Chess4Life focuses on:

  • positively encouraging students at all levels
  • developing sportsmanship
  • warm and supportive team environment

Grades 3 - 8

Do you  love to act, sing, or be part of a show? Join the Villa Youth Theater!

Our spring musical is a favorite community event. Rehearsals begin in February, with performances in May.

Audition for a lead role or be a part of the ensemble or stage crew.

Grades 6 - 8

Do you love the outdoors? If so, you'll love the Villa Green Team!

Our Green Team explores issues of environmental stewardship, sustainability, and conservation, including:

  • food waste composting
  • recycling
  • energy use
  • air pollution

Grades 5 - 8

Do you love to sing or want to learn how to play handbells? Our Liturgical Choir performs at school masses as well as several times a year at special events and nearby St. Bridget Church.

Do you like to code, like Minecraft, or like to tinker with things? If so, the Villa Lego Robotics Team is for you!

Open to all middle schoolers who want to learn or can currently code. This group takes on challenges and competes in regional events.

Grades 6 - 8

Are you ready to hone your public speaking skills? Join the Villa Speech Team!

Gain confidence speaking in front of a group as you write, memorize, and deliver speeches.

The Speech Team competes in various public speaking events.

Grades 7 - 8

Are you good in a crisis? Ready to learn more about health and safety? Apply for the Villa Student Emergency Response Team (SERT).

As a SERT team member, you will learn how to:

  • help support faculty and staff in responding to emergency situations
  • maintain emergency supplies
  • promote health and safety awareness throughout the school 

Grade 8

Are you a leader? Interested in strengthening our student community? Apply for the Villa Student Council.

Practice your leadership skills as you plan and run various student activities like:

  • assemblies
  • all school spirit days
  • dances
  • and more

Grades 4 - 8

Are you a writer, artist, or designer? Join The Villa Times newspaper staff!

Learn how to:

  • plan, design, and organize issues
  • write news and feature stories
  • illustrate and edit stories
  • publish/sell a newspaper

Practice your mentoring skills as you help younger reporters with writing, typing and editing.
