MIDDLE SCHOOL LIFE SKILLS AND SUPPORT

How We Do Social/Emotional Learning and Academic Support

Social/emotional skills and academic support are integrated throughout the curriculum in all of our Middle School classes. Students dig deeper into social issues, emotions, study skills, and individual learning styles through small group Advisory sessions.

Middle School Advisory Groups

Middle school is a time of big changes for students and our Advisory program addresses their needs head on. To support the learning process, every morning and several times a week students meet in small Advisory groups divided by grade.

Advocacy and Academic Growth

Advisory provides an adult advocate for every student. Advisors nurture academic life, oversee school logistics, and coordinate communication between school and home.

Social, Emotional & Spiritual Growth

Advisory activities help develop self awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision making skills within a safe environment where students can take healthy risks and grow.

Community Building & Invigoration

Advisory provides opportunities for inclusive social interaction that promotes our school climate of respect, integrity, and compassion in a structure that allows for connection, creativity, and fun.
