Does your child...

  • miss the Washington state cutoff date for kindergarten?
  • meet the cutoff date but would benefit from more time and additional preparation?
  • attend preschool classes elsewhere but is ready to move on to new challenge?

Villa's Fives Program may be just what you're looking for! To help you learn whether it's right for your child, see what current Villa parents have to say:

The Villa Fives program gave my son the opportunity to navigate early academics at his own pace, while still giving him time to play. This extra year of preschool was critical to his social emotional development, and now, as a 2nd grader, he is a more confident learner who is both socially and academically engaged. The amazing teachers, who truly know my child, the hands on learning with academics weaved through the entire day, and the intentional focus on the social emotional development of each child has given my son a solid start to his educational journey. As a parent I am forever grateful.

Villa’s Fives Program was perfect fit for our twin girls because there are two classes. They really learned an enormous amount by doing— not just sitting and being taught. They grew socially and emotionally which I think helped them tremendously entering into kindergarten with confidence. Absolutely no regrets—it was a special year for both the kids and the parents.

Without question, one of the best parenting moves we’ve made is to enroll our son in Villa Fives. With a summer birthday, he could have gone directly to kindergarten as a young 5-year-old, but with a bit of counsel from family and Villa, we opted for the Fives Program and have been grateful year after year. Giving our son an extra year for social, emotional and academic growth before hitting the ‘big leagues of kindergarten and beyond’ has helped him and us in countless ways. He’s happy, a and confident in his abilities both in and out of the classroom.

We debated for quite some time when deciding to place our son in Kindergarten, or into the Villa Fives Program. After much discussion, conferences with teachers & administrators, and talking to other parents, we decided on Fives. This was by far and away the best decision we could have made. I was told by several parents whose children had been through Villa Fives  that it was a magic year, and that we would not regret the decision. I had no idea what they were referring to until we experienced it ourselves.  Our son absolutely thrived in the program—he learned to transition well (a key skill for Kindergarten), learned to make new friends and join groups easily, and learned to be a confident student.  From his perspective, he simply had an amazing time!

With an early fall birthday our son had clearly grown out of his daycare program but he missed the traditional kindergarten cutoff. We were planning to do another year at his daycare but were growing increasingly concerned he would be bored, surrounded by children nearly a year younger.  We feel so fortunate to have learned about Villa’s Fives Program, targeted specifically for summer and fall birthdays.  It has been the most magical year full of discovery, growth and confidence-building both in terms of academic learning and social and emotional skills. He is increasingly confident about asking questions, exploring new concepts, and feeling OK when he makes mistakes.
