Academics at Villa academy
Preschool Lower School Middle School
A rich and compelling academic program, small classes, supportive environment, and culture of community service make for a dynamic educational experience. Villa Academy sets the academic bar high, challenging students to look at the world from a variety of perspectives and encouraging them to think critically and creatively.
Our program features classes that enhance and build on each other. Imagine an 8th grade literature unit on Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men that is supported by a community service project where students work with developmentally disabled children. Or a 2nd grade social studies class about Japan that is supplemented by a Haiku project in writing, a Japanese sumi-e brush painting project in art — or even a Japanese lunch prepared by our chef! Making connections between and across core subject areas – as well as international languages, fine arts and physical education – makes subject matter come alive by providing students with a multi-dimensional understanding of our ever-changing world.
Inspired by the philosophy and practices of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, dedication to excellence, the development of the whole person, and an emphasis on compassion and service to others are the foundation of a Villa Academy education. Students leave Villa Academy prepared to apply skills, as well as to act upon values and attitudes of life-long learning.

Enrichment Programs
Could your child be the next Wynton Marsalis, Meryl Streep, or Serena Williams? Our athletics program, special interest clubs and performing arts groups are an excellent way to find out. Villa Academy offers a broad range of enrichment programs that provide opportunities to experiment with an interest, develop new skills, or pursue a passion. And all of Villa Academy’s enrichment programs are truly “co-curricular” – building on and complementing lessons, skills, and activities introduced through the school curriculum.
These programs take place before and after school and are available for children from kindergarten through 8th grade.
