Due to the continued unhealthy air quality in Seattle, Villa Academy's campus will be closed to all students through Friday, September 18, 2020.
There will be no preschool classes on campus and the supervised on-line instruction for students through the EDP program will not meet on campus.

On-line instruction will take place as previously planned and faculty/staff members will be allowed to use their Villa Academy classroom, if necessary, to provide on-line instruction.

The Arts: They're Essential

The Arts play an essential role in middle school life. We encourage and develop each student's capacity to create unique works of art and deepen musical understanding. Students spend one semester each year in Visual Arts Class and one semester in Music Class.

Visual Arts

Villa’s Visual Arts Program empowers students to be creative, expressive, and compassionate. While continuing to learn and practice skills and techniques in drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture, students gain artistic literacy through cultural studies, global issues, and cross-curricular projects.

In the progression of their music study, middle schoolers develop more sophisticated instrumental and vocal techniques.

  • 6th grade: Folk music of world cultures that is singing and percussion-based
  • 7th grade: Exploration of music history and genres
  • 8th grade: Music theory applied to “rock band” instruments

Music Performance

We offer students participation in an amazing choice of nine musical performance groups. Learn more about Villa’s Music Program and offerings.
