Music education is about more than just playing an instrument. We challenge children to use the creative side of their brains while, at the same time, learning a foreign language—music. Research clearly indicates that students involved in music education academically outperform their non-musical counterparts.
From Preschool through Middle School we expose students to a range of musical experiences to develop the foundation for a lifetime of music appreciation, a working knowledge of music in performance, and theory skills to aid in the understanding of musical structure.
In addition to regular music classes year round, we have a robust culture of performance, where students from 4th through 8th grades can participate in the following:
Beginning Band is for students with no experience on a band instrument. Rehearsals take place during the school day in place of general music. Beginning band performs 2-3 concerts a year.
