Due to the continued unhealthy air quality in Seattle, Villa Academy's campus will be closed to all students through Friday, September 18, 2020.
There will be no preschool classes on campus and the supervised on-line instruction for students through the EDP program will not meet on campus.

On-line instruction will take place as previously planned and faculty/staff members will be allowed to use their Villa Academy classroom, if necessary, to provide on-line instruction.

Admissions Process

Like many schools in our area, Villa Academy uses an online system called Ravenna for our admission process. Registration for admission events well as submission of application materials all happen through Ravenna. Just follow the steps below.

Summer 2021:  Before applying, please contact us at admissions@thevilla.org for information about select openings for the 2021-22 school year.

Step 1: Create an Account

Go to Ravenna to get started, then search for Villa Academy to register for an event or to start an application. Note: by creating an account, you may explore options and are not required to apply.

Step 2: Visit us! Attend Open House or a Virtual Presentation:


Our Open House will be held on October 23 from 10:00am to Noon. TBA whether in person or virtual. Please register on Ravenna beginning in September.

Due to COVID-19, we are offering limited socially distanced 1-1 tours of our campus and buildings. We're also offering Virtual Grade Level Presentations. Registration for both are available through Ravenna beginning in September 2021. For Virtual Presentations we'll  send you the Zoom link upon registration.

Preschool Presentations: 9:00am
11/18, 12/9, 1/11

Kindergarten Presentations: 9:00am
10/26, 11/16, 12/7

Middle School Presentations: 9:00am
11/9, 12/2

Step 3: Submit Application Information

All grades require materials in addition to the application that may include such items as a parent statement, school records, and teacher recommendation. All required forms are found within Ravenna and are accessible when you create an account.

Important Dates:
Application Deadline - Thursday, January 13, 2022
Financial Aid Deadline - Thursday, February 3, 2022

Specific admission requirements for each grade level are below:

For Preschool Threes and Fours: your child must be three or four on or before August 31.

For Preschool Fives: your child must be five on or before December 31. If your child does not meet this cutoff date, please contact us about our Fours Program.

  1. Due to Covid-19, we are not requiring families to tour before applying. However, we do encourage parents/guardians to take advantage of our virtual grade level presentations and/or attend virtual Open House to learn more about Villa. Pre-registration through Ravenna is required for these events:
    • Thursday, November 18 at 9:00 a.m.
    • Thursday, December 9 at 9:00 a.m.
    • Tuesday, January 11 at 9:00 a.m.
  2. Complete application materials by the January 13 deadline. Materials are found in Ravenna include a parent statement and if applicable, past school records.
  3. In Ravenna, schedule:
    • A parent discussion with our admission staff or other Villa administrators conducted over Zoom
    • The P4/P5 play session, date TBA. We will make a determination whether our preschool play session will be virtual or in-person.
  4. Submit the application fee by credit card in Ravenna. If the fee is a financial hardship, please contact Jasmine Park at 206-527-9388.

To apply for kindergarten your child must be age 5 on or before August 31. If your child does not meet this cutoff date, please contact us to learn about our pre-kindergarten program.

  1. Due to Covid-19, we are not requiring families to tour before applying. However, we do encourage parents/guardians to take advantage of our virtual grade level presentations and/or attend virtual Open House to learn more about Villa. Pre-registration through Ravenna is required for these events:
    • Tuesday, October 26 at 9:00 a.m.
    • Tuesday, November 16 at 9:00 a.m.
    • Tuesday, December 7 at 9:00 a.m.
  2. Complete application materials found in Ravenna by the January 13, 2022 deadline:
    • Parent statement
    • Preschool records if applicable
    • Teacher recommendations
    • IQ tests (note: we don't require IQ testing, but please submit results if you have them)
    • Any behavior and learning reports you may have (these help us to know your child better)
  3. In Ravenna, Schedule:
    • A parent discussion with our admission staff or other Villa administrators conducted over Zoom
    • The Kindergarten play session, date TBA. We will make a determination whether our play session will be virtual or in-person.
  4. Submit the application fee by credit card in Ravenna. If the fee is a financial hardship, please contact Jasmine Park at 206-527-9388.

    • Two years of past school records (preschool if applicable)
    • Teacher recommendations
    • IQ tests (note: we don't require IQ testing, but please submit results if you have them)
    • Any behavior and learning reports you may have (these help us to know your child better)
  2. In Ravenna, schedule:
    • A parent discussion with our admission staff or other Villa administrators conducted over Zoom
    • A half-day student visit at Villa where your child will participate in current grade level activities and classes, followed by a brief academic assessment.
  3. Submit the application fee by credit card in Ravenna. If the fee is a financial hardship, please contact Jasmine Park at 206-527-9388.

Applicants applying to grades 6-8 should attend the October 23rd Open House and/or schedule a meeting with the admissions team to learn more about their child's grade level at Villa.

  1. Due to Covid-19, we are not requiring families to tour before applying. However, in addition to our Open House we do encourage parents/guardians to take advantage of our virtual grade level presentations.Pre-registration through Ravenna is required for these events:
    • Tuesday, November 9 at 9:00am
    • Thursday, December 2 at 9:00am
  2. Complete application materials found in Ravenna by the January 13, 2022 deadline:
    • Parent statement
    • Two years of past school records
    • School based standardized tests (CTP, MAP, etc)
    • Recommendation from math and english teachers
    • IQ tests (note: we don't require IQ testing, but please submit results if you have them)
    • Any behavior and learning reports you may have (these help us to know your child better)
    • Student essay and activity form
  3. In Ravenna, schedule:
    • The virtual student visit day where your child will participate in activities with current Villa students and other applicants. Date TBA.
    • A parent discussion with our admission staff or other Villa administrators conducted over Zoom
  4. Submit the application fee by credit card in Ravenna. If the fee is a financial hardship, please contact Jasmine Park at 206-527-9388.
