How to Apply

Please make sure you have reviewed our ADMISSIONS PROCESS for important information about Ravenna, our online system used for Tour and Open House registration, starting an applications and submitting materials.


Application Materials - found in Ravenna

All grades require materials, that along with an application, may include such items as a parent statement, school records, teacher recommendation and test results. All of materials required are found within Ravenna and are accessible when you create an account. Information required varies depending on grade level  - simply go to the tab for your application grade.
 

Student and Parent Visits - scheduled in Ravenna

Parents as well as all applicants will visit the school so we can get to know you, your child and vice versa! Student visits range from playdates to half-day and full-day experiences - simply go to the tab for your application grade.

Assessments - scheduled in Ravena
Depending upon the grade level, your child may have an assesment. Types of assesments vary - simply go to the tab for your application grade.

 

Admissions Information for Preschool

First: Please go to Admissions Process for necessary information about our Tours, Open House and applying online.

  • For Preschool Threes and Fours: your child must be three or four on or before August 31, 2019
     
  • For Preschool Fives: your child must be five on or before December 31, 2019. If your child will not be five by this time, please contact us to learn more about our Pre-K program.
     
  • Go to your account in Ravenna to complete application materials that include a parent statement and if applicable, past school records.
     
  • In Ravenna, schedule:
    • A parent discussion with our admission staff, conducted in-person or by conference call or Skype for out of town families
    • A playdate where your child will be with other preschool applicants

 

Admissions Information for Kindergarten

First: Please go to Admissions Process for necessary information about our Tours, Open House and applying online.

  • To apply for our kindergarten your child must be age 5 on or before August 31, 2019. If your child will not be 5 by this time, please contact us to learn about our pre-kindergarten program. 
     
  • Go to your account in Ravenna where you'll find application materials to complete no later than January 16, 2020. These include:
    • Parent statement
    • Two years of past school records (preschool if applicable)
    • Teacher recommendations
    • IQ tests (note: we don't require IQ testing, but please submit results if you have them)
    • Any behavior and learning reports you may have (these help us to know your child better)
       
  • In Ravenna, register for:
    • A January 25th play session where your child will be with other kindergarten applicants and Villa faculty. (9:00 am or 11:00 am)
       
    • A Brigance Assessment (a simple 25-minute assessment that helps us understand how your child learns) and concurrent parent discussion with our admission staff. Choose times on either February 3 or 10, 2020

 

 

Admissions Information for Grades 1-2

First: Please go to Admissions Process for necessary information about our Tours, Open House and applying online.

Go to your account in Ravenna where you'll find application materials to complete no later than January 16, 2020. These include:

  • Parent statement
  • Two years of past school records (preschool if applicable)
  • Teacher recommendations
  • IQ tests (note: we don't require IQ testing, but please submit results if you have them)
  • Any behavior and learning reports you may have (these help us to know your child better)
  • In Ravenna, register for:
    • A parent discussion with our admission staff, conducted in-person or by conference call or Skype for out of town families
    • Academic Assessment - Saturday, February 1, 2020. (8:30-10:00 am or 10:30 am to noon)
    • A half-day Student Visit at Villa where your child will participate in activities at their current grade level

Admissions Information Grades 3 - 5

First: Please go to Admissions Process for necessary information about our Tours, Open House and applying online.

Go to your account in Ravenna where you'll find application materials to complete no later than January 16, 2020. These include:

  • Parent statement
  • Two years of past school records (preschool if applicable)
  • Teacher recommendations
  • IQ tests (note: we don't require IQ testing, but please submit results if you have them)
  • Any behavior and learning reports you may have (these help us to know your child better)
  • In Ravenna, register for:
    • A parent discussion with our admission staff, conducted in-person or by conference call or Skype for out of town families
    • Academic Assessment - Saturday, February 1, 2020. (8:30-10:00 am or 10:30 am to noon)
    • A half-day Student Visit at Villa where your child will participate in activities at their current grade level

Admissions Information for Middle School

Go to your account in Ravenna where you'll find application materials to complete no later than January 16, 2020. These include:

  • Parent statement
  • Two years of past school records, please include ALL standardized tests
  • Teacher recommendation from math and english teachers
  • IQ tests (note: we don't require IQ testing, but please submit results if you have them)
  • Any behavior and learning reports you may have (these help us to know your child better)
  • Student essay and activity form
  • In Ravenna, register for:
    • A Student Experience Day at Villa where you child will participate in activities at current grade level
    • A parent discussion with our admission staff, conducted in-person or by conference call or Skype for out of town families
