Defining a Schedule Change
School closure, delayed start, early release, event cancellation, etc. We announce any schedule changes as early as possible to minimize disruption to families

Schedule Changes Due to Weather
Our students, faculty and staff come from a wide geographic area. Weather and road conditions can vary significantly across the region. Our decision is made based upon the weather and road conditions (or forecasted conditions) at Villa and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Where Changes are Announced
Local radio and TV broadcasts, email alerts, and smartphone notifications (via Flash Alert Newswire website, operated by Puget Sound Educational Service District)

Lost & Found

Please label your students' items with first & last names, so we can return them to you from the Lost and Found! Include anything that comes to school, including:

• clothing (uniform items, sweatshirts, coats, hats, gloves, etc.)
• bags and lunchboxes
• water bottles

Adding Labels
You can purchase pre-made labels or use a laundry-proof marker. Legibly write your child's FIRST and LAST name. If using items from the Uniform Exchange, update with the current name.

Returning Lost Labeled Items
If legible, we'll deliver items to the owner's classroom, and to advisory for middle school. Note: an item will be considered "unlabeled" if the name is illegible.

Lost Unlabeled Items

• Unlabeled uniform items go to the uniform exchange once weekly.
• Unlabeled non-uniform items are placed in lower breezeway closet. After a few months and “last chance” notifications in The Weekly, they are given to charity.
• Small or valuable items (such as watches and keys) are kept in the Main Office.

School Counseling at Villa is based on the American School Counseling Association’s (ASCA) comprehensive framework, which has four main program components:

1. The school counseling curriculum involves classroom guidance (SEL), parent/community workshops, and small group interventions.

2. Individual student planning involves working with students and their families through student observation and planning, team meetings, and data analysis to reduce barriers that may inhibit academic or social/emotional development.

3. Responsive services address a student's direct, immediate concerns and include counseling, consultation and referral.

4. System support enables counseling program effectiveness through activities including professional development, consultation, collaboration, teaming, and program management.
